HG> As it now seems to function, it seems to wait for me to save those HG> messages while still online. trying to use thunderbird for reading newsgroups in offline mode is going to be a real PITA... at least each group has to be set to offline mode... you do that by clicking on the group's name after you have subscribed to it... in the properties, you select the group to be read offline... then there are a couple of ways to tell t-bird to get the messages in the groups... one is to use the online/offline button in the bottom left corner of the t-bird window... when you click it to go offline, it will then download all the messages... there's another way in the menu but i don't remember it... it is just so much easier to subscribe to the groups and read the messages as they are pulled down without having to play with the online/offline mess... especially if you have an "always on" connection (eg: cable or dsl) anyway... )\/(ark Always Mount a Scratch Monkey ....
