The cave mouth is littered with machinery parts from farming equ-
ipment.  Seats, harnesses, ladders and handrails: things designed
for human interface.  Piles of the stuff, hastily doffed at eith-
er side of the wide, dark, and hot entrance.

From just outside, sounds of steady excavation and the faint sm-
ell of sulfur. No signs of recent human or wildlife incursion.
