A plateau, 8 ft. high, carries the remains of a small subsistence farming oper-
ation.  A tindershack (holding nothing of value) is surrounded by brittle shrub
and dead crop.  The vegetal remains bloom into dust at a touch.  At the center,
a single crimson stalk still draws sustenance from the soil, barely budding in 
a piercing cornflower blue.

The petals of this plant, dried, burn blue-white and hotter than molten rock.
