Be-Zoom-Ny ========== "Bezoomny" is a word I've found in Anthony Burgess' book *A Clockwork Orange". In Nadsat (an invented teen language) it means "crazy". Last Thursday, I attended a zoom party for my daddy's eightieth b-day. Celebrating an eithtieth years old person's b-day with a new technological tool is not a great idea, but is better than nothing. I don't like when people find themselves clueless in front of an application not knowing what they have to do. I remember the good old days back in the nineties, when I was a hi-tech employee without a computer at home, and using a rotary phone. Nowadays, people use Zoom to attend video conferences. Zoom is even in use for job interviews, and the web is full of advice on how to use it correctly, so you will not expose your messy room while being interviewed. I remember how once I asked myself if the following lines from Alan Parson's Project song "The Turn of a Friendly Card" is about technology: and they think it will make their lives easier for God knows up till now it's been hard and I haven't succeeded yet in installing it on my FreeBSD. Where are the feasts we were promised?[1] [1] Jim Morrison, "An American Prayer"
