Resend To Newsgroup with Thunderbird

The other day I tried to send an e-mail to a newsgroup, but failed.
I got an e-mail from GMane notifying me that I had to authorize my
message by sending them a response. The message was still not posted
because I hadn't subscribed to the newsgroup.
Today, I tried again to resend it by choosing "Edit as New Message"
from the context menu. But, when I tried to resend it to the newsgroup,
I got an alert that says: "This account only supports email recipients. 
Continuing will ignore newsgroups". I closed the dialog, and found that
at the end of the "From" field, there is a drop-down list from which
I cn select the sending account. Chose the one with the name "GMane" after
my e-mail address, and sent ti successfully.
