Why Join A Forum Site?

The other day, I went to Ars Technica forums. I found there a question
on what smartphone to buy. The asker sounded like a minimalist to me:
all they want is taking pictures, making phone calls, texting and 
reading/sending e-mails.
Wait! Are you there to come up with the standard answers like "iPhone"
or "Pixel" or "Galaxy"? The leading smartphone manufacturers?
I don't think I would ask for help if I knew those are the answers I was
going to get. 
I recall that there are other types on phone and they are advancing, too:
feature phones.
Found one on the web, and it is even 4G. Nokia has advanced, too!
